THE STORY
A customer with a Ford Explorer and a 26-foot boat was having trouble at the launch ramp. With the lake level so low, getting the boat far enough into the water meant putting the Explorer farther into the lake than he wanted.
He asked BKF to fabricate a 10-foot tongue extension. I suggested a retractable design that could return closer to the trailer's normal length for regular use, but he wanted the fixed extension.
So I built the configuration he requested and made my concerns about the added length clear. He put it to work and later told me it worked great.
A real-world problem. A custom-built solution.
